Our
Projects

In keeping with the mission of the National Council of Negro Women we seek to lead, advocate for, and empower women of African descent, their families, and communities.
Today, the NCNW programs are grounded on a foundation of critical concerns that are now “NCNW Priorities.” Our organization promotes education; encourages entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and economic stability; educates women about health and promotes healthcare access, and promotes civic engagement and advocates for sound public policy and social justice.

EDUCATION

RVA Reads

In partnership with the Richmond Public Library, Richmond Public Library Foundation and RVA Reads, we support  the development of early literacy skills and school readiness for preschool students.  This program engages preschool students at the five Richmond Regional Preeschool Centers.  In addition to reading to students, each child gets a book to take home!

This monthly program runs from October - May.  â€‹To read more about this opportunity visit https://rvalibrary.org/rva-reads/
